Best Storage Solution for Emergency Drinking Water for a Family of 5
We live at the top of a mountain so in the event of a natural or man made disaster the pumps to get water up to us may not be reliable. I'd like to think we could survive a month or two if this situation were to occur. The area does get below freezing regularly during the winter months and up into the 90s on hot summer days. I'd thought of splitting the potable water supply between some in the garage and the majority in blivet bags under the backyard deck. What is the ideal situation and how would I prep the area for the blivets and keep them from freezing over and bursting during the long cold winter months? What about incorporating both rainwater and snow melt into my survival water system?
Thanks for your suggestions,
John
Hi John! Thanks for contacting us! It would be a pleasure to assist you in coming up with a emergency potable drinking water supply solution. I can recommend a couple water storage ideas, but I think you would benefit greatly if you contacted one of our experts and together you can discuss exactly what you are looking for.
Our Portable Water Bladders are ideal for drinking water and fuel storage during military operations. They are widely used for emergency drinking water supply for shelters / communities, or rural job sites. The flexible tanks are also used for black and gray water storage (RV Tanks) for latrines, laundries and temporary storage of contaminants when service vehicles are not readily available. We offer a range of off the shelf sizes and materials, manufacture to military specification or custom build for water, fuel, food grade etc. to suit your application.
We also have available the Original Rainwater Pillow Kit to harvest rainwater and store it for later use. The rainwater pillow system is perfect to store in wasted spaces. It can be installed in crawl spaces, under deck or porch areas, or in green houses for example. It comes in a few standard sizes, but they can be custom manufactured as well.
