Pillow tanks for fuel are flexible structures designed to successfully store large amounts of fuel in a single location or tank. When compared to a rigid structure, the flexible tank can offer a larger storage capacity with lower shipping and transportation costs. This has allowed companies and businesses to store several thousands of gallons of fuel for use in fueling machinery, equipment and even facilities.
Collapsible Fuel Tank Information
A collapsible tank is a flexible structure designed to store liquids in a low-profile, durable container. Often referred to as a pillow tank or bladder, these units remain flat when empty and slowly rise to form a pillow-like structure for storage in your location. When used to store fuel, tanks are constructed using heavy-duty materials including urethane, rubber, and polymer alloy coated fabric.

Technical Specifications
Capacities: The collapsible tank is one of the most versatile tank storage options available and is available in sizes that range from 25 to 210,000 gallons.
Tank Fabric: The flexible fuel tank is typically constructed using a urethane, rubber or polymer alloy coated fabric. These fabrics are designed to provide a tough exterior for outdoor elements, as well as a reliable interior to handle the nature of fuel materials.
Fittings: Tanks are typically equipped with fittings that can connect the flexible fuel tank to pumps or hoses. Fittings are typically made in a size range 3/4" to 2", but can also be made in larger ranges (4" to 6") if your site requires it. Materials for these fittings include aluminum, stainless steel, and polypropylene.
Optional Fittings & Accessories:
- Emergency Plugs
- Ports (such as drain or floor) for Periodic Cleaning
- Pressure Relief Valves
- Operational Spare Parts
- Repair Kits
- Ground Cloth
- Secondary Containment Berm
Packaging: The packaging of these flexible fuel tanks can vary depending on your site location and set up. Tanks are typically placed in items such as carry bags, totes, or wooden treated crates, but can be placed in additional packaging materials as specified. One of the main advantages of a collapsible tank is its ability to be easily transported while empty. Tanks are often folded or rolled to save in shipping costs.
