Reclamation or recycling of "used" water through a treatment facility as gray water or black water allows this resource to be applied or used in other commercial industrial application.

Potable drinking water is not normally stored in this manner as it is subject to contamination and could require treatment prior to consumption. Water is then stored in tanks which vary in size and construction depending on intended use and distribution.

The most common way to store water is in a flexible bladder, steel tanks or in a PE molded storage tank. These are normally NSF 61 (national sanitation foundation) rated and FDA compliant and will not affect the quality of the water.
