What are the pro's and con's of a portable collapsible flexible tank used as a water system for clean and safe drinking water?

by Portable Tank Group Team
(Florida, USA)

A mother asked us for help in regard to her son's school science project. He had to give two examples of water systems to supply clean and safe drinking water as part of an humanitarian relief program and to list the pro's and con's of each.

Examples for water systems used for humanitarian relief: old brick and mortar cisterns, water canals, steel tanks and pipes, portable collapsible flexible tanks.

Pro's and Con's of a water system using portable collapsible flexible drinking water tanks:

Pro's: economical and time saving setup, saves space, can be rolled up if unfilled.
Con's: if dragged tank material can be scuffed. If there is bad intent involved it can be punctured with a sharp knife or other sharp tool. The ground needs to be leveled to fill the tank. Only compatible correct liquids can be stored in the tank.
