Storing Emergency Drinking Water For My Family During Emergencies

I'm looking for a good solution to store emergency drinking water for my family during emergencies.

I'd like to store about 100 gallons, but several small containers would be okay or even preferable.

They will be in my garage and so I'd like something that is pretty durable/kid proof but I've heard that drums aren't a good solution due to potential for bacteria.
