Water Storage Tanks
Benefits and Options of Storing Water
Why do you store water? Why should you use a Water Storage Tank? Water is stored primarily for use as non-potable water, for agricultural use in lined ponds, and in dams and reservoirs for irrigation.
Potable drinking water is not normally stored in this manner as it is subject to contamination and could require treatment prior to consumption. Water is then stored in tanks which vary in size and construction depending on intended use and distribution.
The most common way to store water is in a flexible bladder, steel tanks, or in a PE molded storage tank. These are normally NSF 61 (National Sanitation Foundation) rated and FDA compliant and will not affect the quality of the water.
There is a variety of methods and "types" of water that can be stored in our molded tanks and portable collapsible tanks:
- Drinking Water/ Cistern Water/ Livestock Water/ Emergency Drinking Water in Catastrophic Situations
- Well Water/Ground Water
- Rainwater Collection
- Gray Water/Wastewater/Pool Water/Pond Water/Septic Water
- Brine Water
- Fire Sprinkler Water
- Emergency Water Supply in case of a fire (first responders, firefighters)
- Portable Water Tank for Drinks and Food
Drinking Water Quality
More information regarding drinking water quality, provided by the World Health Organization
"By 2025 at least 3.5 billion people or about half the world's population will live in areas without enough water for agriculture, industry, and human needs."
Worldwide, water quality conditions appear to have degraded in almost all regions with intensive agriculture and in large urban and industrial areas, according to World Resources Institute WRI, October 2000. Ready to buy the storage tank for your water usage?
